What about this weather? Stepping gingerly around puddles , having to avoid ankle deep rivulets on the roads! This morning the road outside Quin on the Mid Clare Way was unreal and to be fair it hadn't been bad til now. The fields are all saturated now though. Really looking forward to the Spring and daylight running, if only for sfaety's sake.
Last Sundays long run was a mixed blessing. Intended doing a 7 miler but had to turn back the way I came after 4 miles so ended up logging 8 for the day.
Struggled a bit in the rain and cold , there really is a big difference in my running form when I go over the hour mark for a run. Still I finished in 1 hr 28 mins and this was on a hilly route so I'm happy enough at the moment with that.
I'm still running 4 times a week and I do feel quite strong on the 3 mornings when I run a 3.5 ile loop. Is there anything better than running down a narrow country road under stars and a bright moon at 6 am?
Ballycotton looms large though so must get in another 8 miler either this weekend or next, still more rain promised though so really I'm dependent on the roads being open.
